Enhancing Life Through Heritage will provide the foundation for a nationally significant restoration and outreach initiative which demonstrates how church buildings can be used to improve lives and communities.

Our ambition is to connect building restoration with heritage engagement and the development of skills in the heritage sector to enhance the lives of all involved.

We aim to:

  • Save the extraordinary heritage of St Mary’s Beverley by repairing the North Nave and the Tower, making this building secure for future generations.
  • Improve wellbeing by providing opportunities for young people to learn heritage skills and to be inspired to begin a career in the heritage sector through our Traditional Occupations Module.
  • Increase access to heritage by developing a space where people can learn and explore the history and the skills of those who have contributed to our built heritage, where people can get involved and belong.

This project is overseen by a board of skilled volunteers with expertise from education, construction, heritage and the technology sector.
